Directions from SF -- and other things....

Hi--
Just noticed that the Point Reyes National Seashore page noted that there may be delays of 30 minutes on Sir Francis Drake Road on the way to Point Reyes Station, with possible small, signed detours along the way. Just thought we'd put that up here.

Here are directions from SF (pretty sure the sign says "San Anselmo" and not "Sir Francis Drake" when you're coming from the south and headed North on 101, but it's the same street:

Directions from San Francisco to The Inverness Valley Inn:

From San Francisco, go north on U.S. Highway 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Follow U.S. 101 about 9 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge to the Sir Francis Drake-San Anselmo exit, exit 450B.

Make sure you are in the lane for San Anselmo (the second lane from the right) and exit onto Sir Francis Drake Boulevard heading west.

Follow Sir Francis Drake west for somewhere around 26 miles to:

Inverness Valley Inn
13275 Sir Francis Drake Blvd

We are working on getting shuttles to take people from the Inn to the Friday night gathering at Drakes Beach, where people should dress warmly and casually. If you're coming at 8pm we'll have some food but if you're a big eater you might want to eat a bit before you come -- we'll also have drinks (of course) and we may be having a bonfire that night.

From Inverness Valley Inn to Drakes Beach Cafe

Head west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd for 8.6 mi (about 17 min)
Slight left at Drakes Beach Rd
NOTE: I think there's a sign for "Drakes Bay Oysters" a mile or two before this exit -- do not take this. You are headed to Drakes Beach/Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center (Not sure if they have it by name but there should be a fork and knife sign indicating food!)

We will most likely have shuttles for most people hopefully this will be not to bad of a jaunt (it's only about 9 miles but takes 25 minutes or so because of the road)...

Here's a link to a Google Map that has all three locations:

Updates....

Hi Everybody, we'll be updating this periodically, so check back every once in a while (especially once June rolls around)....

For now, we're excited and hope you can come to our wedding!

Pt. Reyes is typically foggy and cold in June so come prepared (shoes, layers, umbrellas for "mist", etc.) -- See the "sidebar" for a link to weather forecasts...

We'll be having a shuttle that take people places, but directions will be available for you to print here as well (more as the date nears) if you don't want to take it (although the roads are windy and foggy so we recommend it!)

Bye for now!
